Stop Sign 1929
Name:

Stop Sign 1929

Description:
The 1929 AASHO update addressed a concern with the black letters on stop signs. Stop signs fitted with reflectors were to have white letters on a black band. The challenge of reflectorizing black letters is one of the reasons why stop signs went to white letters on a red background in 1954, and why guide signs went to white on green/black in 1961
