Inland Empire System
Name:

Inland Empire System

Description:
A pretty majestic name and a rather nifty herald, however this line was an electric interurban confined to the Spokane area. It was purchased by James J. Hill for the Great Northern in 1909, and was completely integrated into the system in 1929. Much of the trackage was abandoned after the Northern merged with Northern Pacific and the Burlington Route in 1970.
