Skelly
Name:

Skelly

Description:
Skelly was an Oklahoma based midwestern independent founded by W. G. Skelly and controlled by J. P. Getty from the 30s on. The brand itself was phased out in 1977, with many stations rebranded to Getty (and subsequently Texaco). Skelly was a pioneer in developing truck stops.

The founder of Skelly, W. G. Skelly, was a supporter of Tulsa University, which honored him by adopting the call sign KWGS for its campus radio station.
